Steve is a leader of the FlyEM project at the Janelia Research Campus, whose goal is to produce fly brain connectomes.  His efforts to reconstruct connectomes and make them accessible at large scale leverage his skills in neuroscience, machine learning, data science, software engineering, and project management.  FlyEM recently released the largest dense connectome called the hemibrain available on https://neuprint.janelia.org.
